Interior painting in Morgan Hill and the South Bay

Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets, with the furniture covered, the lines crisp and the house put back the way it was.

The short version: We cover everything, repair the walls, cut clean lines by hand and paint two coats. A room or two is a quick job; a whole house is scheduled with you at the estimate. The estimate is free, itemized and in writing. Call or text (408) 464-7665.

What an interior job looks like from your side

The crew arrives in the morning, moves what has to be moved and covers the rest with plastic and drop cloths. Curtain rods, switch plates, outlet covers and blinds come down. Nail holes, dents and cracks get filled and sanded. Then the painting starts, usually ceilings first, then walls, then trim and doors. At the end of every day the room is cleaned up, so you can live in the house while the work is going on. Judy Blair’s review on Google describes it well: no bleed lines between the ceiling and the walls, not a drop of paint on the floors, and everything put back, down to the light switches.

Low-VOC paint

Every major brand makes low-VOC and zero-VOC interior paints, and they are what most customers ask for: the smell is gone in hours rather than days and the house is fine for children and pets while the work is going on. Ask for them at the estimate, or name the brand and product you want.

What moves the price

Room count and ceiling height matter most. A two-story entry or a vaulted living room needs scaffolding or planks. After that it is the amount of trim and doors (trim is slow, careful work), how many colors you want, and the condition of the walls. A house that was last painted fifteen years ago with a lot of patching to do costs more than one that just needs a refresh. Ramon’s quote lists it room by room.

“If I could give Color Pros Inc. more than 5 stars, I would. They definitely deserve it. Ramon is professional, knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. …”

Houses built before 1978

A lot of the South Bay’s housing stock was built in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and paint from before 1978 can contain lead. Color Pros is EPA Lead-Safe Certified, which means the crew tests, contains and cleans up the way the EPA rule requires when it disturbs old paint. It is part of the job, not an extra.

Interior painting questions

Do I need to move out while you paint?

No. The crew works room by room and cleans up every day. For a whole-house job we plan the order with you so you always have a kitchen and a bedroom to use.

Do you move furniture?

Yes, we move it to the middle of the room and cover it. Anything fragile or valuable, please move yourself before we arrive.

How many coats do you apply?

Two, over primer where the wall needs it. A dark color going to a light one sometimes needs a third coat, and that is in the quote, not a surprise.

Can you help me pick colors?

Yes. Ginger Ruther’s Google review is about exactly that: Ramon showed her on the color wheel which grays worked with her hardwood floors. Color help is part of the estimate.

Do you paint ceilings and remove popcorn texture?

We paint ceilings on every job. Popcorn ceiling removal and resurfacing is drywall work and is quoted separately; see the drywall repair page.

How soon can you start?

It depends on the season. Call (408) 464-7665 and Ramon will tell you where the schedule stands. Small jobs can often be fitted in between larger ones.

Free, itemized estimates.

Ramon answers the phone and texts back. Monday to Friday 7 to 7, Saturday 8 to 5.
