The short version: We wash the house, repair the stucco and the wood, prime what is bare and put on two coats of exterior paint. Ramon gives you the schedule with the estimate. The estimate is free, itemized and in writing. Call or text (408) 464-7665.
Why the South Bay is hard on exterior paint
Morgan Hill, Gilroy and the valley floor get long dry summers and strong afternoon sun. Paint on the south and west sides of a house fades and chalks first, caulking around the windows dries out and splits, and stucco cracks open at the corners. Then the winter rain gets in behind the paint. The job is to fix all of that before the first coat goes on, which is why most of our time on an exterior is spent on prep, not painting.

What is included in an exterior paint job
Every exterior follows the same order:
- Pressure washing to remove dirt, mold and chalking
- Stucco crack repair and caulking
- Wood rot repair and replacement where needed
- Scraping and sanding loose or peeling paint
- Masking windows, doors, brick, stone and landscaping
- Primer on bare surfaces
- Two coats of premium exterior paint
- Gutters, trim, soffits and fascia painted to match
- Final walk-through with you and complete cleanup
We paint stucco, wood siding and fiber cement board, trim, fascia and soffits, eaves, gutters and downspouts, entry doors and garage doors, fences and gates, decks, trellises and pergolas.

What moves the price
Ramon looks at every house in person before he quotes it, and the estimate is itemized so you can see where the money goes. The things that change the number most are the size and height of the house (a two-story with a steep roofline takes more ladder and scaffold time), how much wood rot and stucco repair there is, how many colors you want (body, trim and accent is normal), and whether the garage doors, fences and gutters are in the job. The paint itself is a small part of the cost. Labor and prep are most of it.

Choosing exterior colors
If you are not sure what color you want, say so. Ramon will look at the roof, the stone or brick, the neighbors’ houses and your HOA’s approved palette and suggest two or three schemes that work. Andrew Salinas’s house went from a color that was not working to a scheme that fit his HOA’s options, and Edgardo Ruvalcaba had his new garage doors and trim matched so everything coordinated. You can read both of those reviews on Google.
“We used Color Pros, Inc. to paint the exterior and interior of our home. They did such a spectacular, and I do mean spectacular, job on painting the exterior of our home that we definitely wanted only them to do the the full interior painting of our home. …”
How long does an exterior take
The order is always the same: wash and repair, then prime and mask, then paint. A small single-story goes quickly; a large two-story with a lot of repair takes most of a week. Ramon puts the days in the estimate. Washing has to dry before anything else happens, and we do not paint in the rain or when the temperature is too low for the paint to cure. Rain in the middle of a job happens in the spring and the fall; when it does, the crew comes back the day it is dry enough.

Exterior painting questions
How often should a house in Morgan Hill be repainted?
Every seven to ten years for stucco and wood with a good coat of paint on it. South and west walls go first. If you can rub a wall and get chalk on your hand, or the caulking at the windows has split, it is time.
Do you repair stucco and wood before painting?
Yes. Stucco crack repair, caulking and wood rot repair are part of every exterior job. If a piece of trim or siding is too far gone we replace it.
Will you work around my HOA’s color rules?
Yes. Bring the approved palette to the estimate, or we can look it up. We paint to the scheme the HOA approved and give you the paint names and codes for your records.
What time of year is best for exterior painting?
Late spring through fall in the South Bay. We paint year round when the weather allows; in winter we watch the forecast and the overnight temperature.
Do you paint garage doors and fences too?
Yes, and they are usually quoted as a line item so you can decide whether to include them.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. Ramon comes out, measures, looks at the condition of the surfaces and sends you an itemized quote. No charge and no obligation.
