The short version: Color help is part of every Color Pros estimate. Ramon looks at the house, the light and what you already own, and narrows the choice to two or three samples that will work. The estimate is free, itemized and in writing. Call or text (408) 464-7665.
Why a chip is not enough
A color on a two-inch chip under store lights looks nothing like the same color across a whole wall in your living room at four in the afternoon. Floors, counters, the roof and the neighbors’ houses all pull it one way or another. Ginger Ruther’s Google review is the honest version: she and her husband put off painting for years because they did not know where to start with colors, and Ramon showed her on the color wheel which grays worked with her hardwood floors. That is the whole service.
What happens at the consultation
- A look at the light in each room or on each side of the house, natural and artificial
- Your flooring, cabinets, counters and furnishings
- The style of the house and, outside, the roof, stone, brick and the street
- Your HOA’s approved palette, if there is one
- Two or three schemes to choose from, with body, trim and accent colors
- Sample pots painted on the wall so you can see them at different times of day

Interior and exterior
Inside, the goal is a set of colors that flow from room to room, especially in open-plan houses where the kitchen, dining and living room are one space. Outside, the roof and the stonework are fixed, so the body color has to work with them, and the trim and front door carry the personality. Edgardo Ruvalcaba had his new garage doors and trim matched so the whole front coordinated; Andrew Salinas’s house went from a color that was not working to one that fit his HOA’s list. Both reviews are on Google.
What it costs
Nothing extra when Color Pros does the painting. Color help happens at the estimate and again when the samples go up. If you only want the consultation without the painting, call and ask; Ramon will tell you honestly whether it makes sense.
“The Color Pros team is one of the best we have worked with. Ramon is a wonderful consultant, advisor and leader. He shared his recommendations with us with the right logic for every nook and corner of the house, and was very respectful of our preferences as well. …”

Color consultation questions
Is color consultation really free?
When we paint, yes, it is part of the estimate and the job.
Can you paint sample patches on the wall?
Yes. Two or three sample pots on the wall or the stucco, looked at morning and evening, settle most decisions.
Will you work with my designer’s palette?
Yes. Bring the colors and codes and we paint to them.
What if I pick a color and hate it?
Tell us before the second coat. Changing a color early in a job is a small adjustment; that is why the samples go up first.
